    📅 Job Type: Full-Time (September - June, with the possibility of summer employment)
    Start Date: August 18, 2025 (earlier engagement possible upon discussion)
    💰 Compensation: Sliding Scale – Based on experience


    About Elements Outdoors:

    Elements Outdoors is a nature-based program that fosters adventure, connection, and exploration for children in an outdoor setting. Through hands-on experiences, we inspire curiosity, resilience, and a deep connection to the natural world. Our programs range from forest school experiences to summer camps, all designed to help children thrive in a playful, supportive environment.

    We’re looking for a Program Coordinator to bring energy, organization, and leadership to our programs, ensuring smooth operations and unforgettable experiences for children and families.


    Role Overview:

    The Program Coordinator is responsible for planning, organizing, and overseeing the day-to-day operations of our programs. This role ensures that activities run smoothly, staff are supported, and families feel connected to the Elements Outdoors experience. The Program Coordinator will work closely with facilitators, team leads, and administration to create a seamless and enriching environment for children.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Oversee the planning, scheduling, and execution of programs, ensuring alignment with Elements Outdoors’ mission.

    • Act as the point person for staff, providing guidance, support, and coordination.

    • Work closely with the Roots of Connection Coordinator to integrate child-specific needs into programming.

    • Manage program logistics, including equipment, supplies, and site preparation.

    • Foster a positive, welcoming environment for children, families, and staff.

    • Support staff with training, development, and troubleshooting as needed.

    • Communicate with families, responding to inquiries and keeping them engaged with their child’s experience.

    • Ensure all programs are safe, engaging, and inclusive, following risk management protocols.

    • Collaborate with the leadership team to assess, improve, and innovate programming.

    Qualifications & Experience

    📌 Post-secondary diploma/degree in one or more of the following areas is an asset:

    • Teaching

    • Child & Youth Care (CYC) or related fields

    • Registered Early Childhood Education (ECE)

    • Recreation

    • Outdoor Education

    📌 Additional Qualifications & Skills:

    • Experience in program coordination, education, camp leadership, or outdoor recreation.

    • Strong organizational and leadership skills.

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

    • Background in child development, outdoor education, or recreation is an asset.

    • Experience working in a nature-based, experiential, or adventure program is a plus.

    • First Aid & CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).

    • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and actively participate in activities like climbing, running, and exploring.
